I am the founder and chairman of Samaj Sewa Foundation, a youth-led organization committed to advocating for minority rights and promoting peacebuilding in Pakistan. I am also an alumnus of KAICIID, an international organization that fosters interreligious and intercultural dialogue. Over the years, I have actively worked to empower religious minorities and contribute to interfaith harmony across the country.
I have served in various leadership and advocacy roles, including:
Deputy Coordinator (South Punjab) at the Ministry of Human Rights and Minorities Affairs
Provincial President of Punjab for the Pakistan Hindu Youth Council
Provincial Coordinator for Minorities Affairs to the Chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA)
Member of the Provincial Forum Punjab in the British Council’s Aawaz II program, promoting minority rights at the provincial level
Since 2019, I have volunteered with the Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Department in Punjab, helping students from minority communities access educational scholarships and connecting marginalized groups with socio-economic development schemes through grassroots awareness initiatives.
My research work includes:
A survey on forced conversions of minor girls from religious minorities in Sindh
A survey of 400 Hindu families for the project “Educational Needs of Minorities in Punjab”
Work as a Project Officer at the Centre for Social Justice on the "Social and Economic Empowerment of Minorities" project
Growing up in a deprived region, I was initially unaware that the discrimination we faced was a violation of our fundamental rights as guaranteed by Pakistan’s Constitution and international treaties. My perspective changed in February 2016 after attending my first session on Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB). Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to research, advocacy, and grassroots mobilization to address these issues.
In May 2016, I traveled across Pakistan to form a youth network focused on documenting minority rights violations with authentic, community-based data. One of the most alarming issues I’ve worked on is the forced conversion of minor girls, which is often part of a broader pattern of religious persecution and denial of social, cultural, and political rights.
Despite limited resources and organizational support, I conducted a detailed survey using my personal funds. I interviewed victim families, human rights defenders, and lawyers involved in forced conversion cases. During this work, I was also targeted and pressured to convert to Islam while in Karachi. I later submitted a detailed report of my findings to a minority parliamentarian for legislative purposes.
To raise awareness, I launched a social media campaign through Facebook Live sessions, encouraging minority youth to speak publicly. As a result, hashtags like #StopForcedConversions and #PassAntiForcedConversionBill trended nationwide on Twitter in 2020.
I have spoken at national platforms about these challenges and have received recognition for my work, including:
Human Rights Award (2021)
Youth Champion for Minorities Rights Award (2022)
In conclusion, my advocacy focuses on confronting discrimination, hate speech, exclusion, and forced conversions, while promoting peacebuilding, conflict resolution, community-based CVE/PVE, and inclusive policy reforms. I remain deeply committed to building a just and inclusive society where every citizen—regardless of religion—is treated with dignity and equity.
